A Selection of Resources for GTA Muslims

 

1-     Access to Quranic Arabic, AbdulWahid Hamid, Muslim Education @ Literacy service (UK). Comment: An Excellent ( perhaps the best) , self-study introductory guide to understanding Qur’anic Arabic with vocabulary, examples and refernces drawn almost exclusive from the Quran. Available at most GTA Islamic bookstores or via online bookstores.

2-     The Quran: Translation and study: Juz 30, Jamal-un-nisa bint rafai, Ta-Ha publishers Ltd. (UK). Comment: an excellent volume for the purpose of memorizing or understanding   the meaning of the shortest chapters of the Quran in the last juz. Available at most GTA Islamic bookstores or Via online bookstores. This is not a guide to study of the Arabic language but helpful for understanding the meaning of the chapters that we recite in our prayer on a daily basis.

3-     Islamic Institute of Toronto – www.islam.ca; Islamic institute based in Scarbrough at Neilson and Finsh; 416-335-9173. Comment: courses and programs in Arabic available for GTA Muslims; most convenient for those living in or near the east end.

4-     Shariah Program – www.shariahprogram.ca; 647-225-2546 Educational institute dedicated to the dissemination of the Arabic language. Providing quality Arabic instructions to English speaking studets, both online and locally in the GTA.

5-     SunniPath – www.sunnipath.com; comprehensive online Islamic education and Arabic language by scholars and experts

6-     Toronto Muslims – www.torontomuslims.com; Clearing of information on Islam and Muslims in the GTA. Frequent information about new classes, courses and other opportunities for learning Arabic

7-     Muslim Association of Canada/Masjid Toronto – www.masjidtoronto.com; Downtown Toronto’s largest mosque – 168 Dundas Street West, 416-596-0507. offering courses in Arabic or referral to Arabic language and Islamic resources in the GTA
